About A. Jasper Rains

DVDs are always a great gift! Kendra and I both benefit from your benevolent heart! We live in beautiful Hollis, MAine where I serve as a youth pastor. We miss life in the mid-west but are happy that God has called us here. I enjoy music, movies, and reading. My favorite movies include Chariots of Fire, Never Been Kissed, and The Star Wars Trilogy. My favorite musical artists are Steven Curtis Chapman, Rich Mullins, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Andrew Peterson. My favorite books include Purpose Driven Youth Minsitry, THe Zion Covenant Series by Bode Theone, and The Hiding Place.

Note: I found this pretty boring. The chapters not about the Marines to be pretty dull and there were a lot of those chapters. I would not recommend this to anyone.

“Everybody has a responsibility to God, in my opinion, for the abilities they have been given,” Berkman said. “Everybody has a platform. Everybody has the opportunity. Just because I’m a professional baseball player, I might have a bigger platform because of a public status, but everybody can have an impact on the people they are around—their families, coworkers—no matter what you do.
Note: I concur with Mr. Berkman.

“There’s always things you question God about,” Wainwright said. “I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. That was the way David lived. He was in constant dialogue with God and crying out to God, asking why and praising God. Throughout our struggles I think it’s okay to ask God why things are happening. There’s nothing wrong with asking why. I continue to talk to God.
