Neoteny is “the retention of youthful qualities by adults.” Warren Bennis and Robert Thomas identify neoteny as an indispensable quality of leadership in their book, Geeks and Geezers. Neoteny is more than retaining a youthful appearance, although that is often part of it. Neoteny is the retention of those wonderful qualities that we associate with youth: curiosity, playfulness, eagerness, fearlessness, warmth, energy. Unlike those defeated by time and age, our geezers have remained much like our geeks—open, willing to take risks, hungry for knowledge and experience, courageous, eager to...
Note: I want to be known as neotenous, more than now.

Some of the best things in life are totally unplanned and unscripted.

How much happier you would be, how much more of you there would be, if the hammer of a higher God could smash your small cosmos. G.K.CHESTERTON

  • David shared from Thunder Dog: The True Story of a Blind Man, His Guide Dog, and the Triumph of Trust at Ground Zero by Michael Hingson
If there is just one message about blindness that I could share with sighted people, it would be this: It’s okay to be blind. It won’t ruin your life or drain away all joy and satisfaction. It won’t strangle your creativity or lower your intelligence. It won’t keep you from traveling and experiencing life in other places. It won’t separate you from friends and family. It won’t keep you from falling in love, getting married, and having a family of your own. It won’t prevent you from getting a job and making a living.
Note: There are many sighted people that don't see this clearly. @myen #vision

Your genuine action will explain itself, and will explain your other genuine actions. Your conformity explains nothing.

The sun gives life but you’d be an ash flake if you got close to it, you got to swallow water to live but sometimes it kills you, Uncle Sam don’t truly count you as any relation, and God has gone blank on your name and face.

  • David shared from The Belly Fat Cure by Jorge Cruise
Sugar alcohols are considered nonnutritive sweeteners—this means that they add sweetness to foods and drinks without any nutrients and virtually no calories. Registered dietitians with the Yale-New Haven Hospital confirmed that sugar alcohols have fewer calories than sugar. They also revealed another benefit: these sweeteners don’t cause cavities. Contrary to their name, sugar alcohols are neither a sugar nor an alcohol, but rather, a type of carbohydrate. The reason they have fewer calories is that they aren’t completely absorbed by the body (most of consumed sugar alcohols will be excreted...
Note: Lookimg to sweeten things up a bit? Do it without sugar and harmful artificials. #bfc @myen

Sucralose is found in more than 4,500 products on supermarket shelves, including Splenda. Also discovered by chemists, this sugar alternative is 600 times sweeter than sugar. Scientists at Duke University recently revealed that commonly consumed amounts of sucralose reduce the amount of “good” gut bacteria by 50 percent. Gut bacteria are essential for promoting a healthy digestive system and regular bowel movements, which help you get rid of false belly fat. Sucralose also produced significant weight gain in the study. Beyond this research, sucralose contains chlorine, which, as you know,...
